September 25, 2020, marks the one-year anniversary since discovering little Ruby's gender. I remember that day so clearly; being off school, hanging out at Grandma's from one to six as Mom had her ultrasound, and then Dad launching a cloud of pink powder in the air. (picture below!)
Seven siblings younger than me, one older. Two amazing parents. And a God Who opened their eyes over fifteen years ago to the beauty of childbearing.
I'm convinced that no other big/little sister could feel so loved!
Aaaand now . . . a few photos. ;D
My journal entry from last year. ^_^ |
Do you have any siblings? If so, how many? Ever participated in a gender reveal celebration? Comment below! <3
Blessings,
Ellen S.
I remember last year's post, You were also announcing the winner for your "Torch Keepers" giveaway. I've been to a gender reveal for my second cousin once. My family's old fashioned though, so we don't prefer gender reveals.
ReplyDeleteAhh, yes, I remember that! Exiting times. =)
DeleteLOL, gotcha. ;)
I remember that post it was the first post I read of yours! 😊💜
ReplyDeleteAw, that's so special! <3 Thanks for sharing, Jovey!
DeleteSHE'S SO CUTE!!! ❤️❤️❤️
ReplyDeleteI have a lot of cousins and siblings, but I've never been to a gender reveal. My family waits till birth to find out the gender. Definitely requires extra patience, but it's so much more exciting in the end!
Thank youuuuu. <3 <3 <3
DeleteWow! Yep, that would definitely require an abundance of patience. xD How many siblings do you have?
She is so cute! I love your pictures!
ReplyDeleteThanks! <3
DeleteRuby is adorable!!! Such a blessing! ❤
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely! :D
DeleteAww what a precious memory!! Haha, yes I do have alot of siblings *winks*, but you already knew that. I was at a gender reveal for my cousin but other than that we usually have been told some way virtually. For our family reveals we usually do something special though its just us. Kinda like what you did with Ruby!
ReplyDeleteAwesome! Thanks! =)
DeleteYup, I have three siblings :) I have never been at a gender reveal.... unless you count going along to the ultrasound as a gender reveal!
ReplyDeleteOh my, being there for the ultrasound is *such* an amazing experience. My older brother and I were given that privilege over eight years ago (when we found out baby #6 was a boy), and I loved every moment of it. *heart eyes*
DeleteAwwww, that's so cool!!!! I remember when Momma told us that we had a baby girl too--we were all happy, since the last two had been boys and we'd all missed having a chubby little girl with bows and pink outfits in the house.
ReplyDeleteI have seven younger siblings, but I've actually never been to a gender reveal, but they seem so cool and exciting!! I'll have to convince my parents to do one in the future if we have more kids (I certainly hope we do!) *winks*.
Those pics are just the sweetest <3. You have some of the cutest little sisters!!
~Gracie~
Thank you so much, Gracie! <3 <3 <3 Oh yes, I hope God blesses you with another beautiful sibling! Big families are the b.e.s.t.! =)
DeleteRuby certainly is one of the cutest little blessings I've seen (and I've seen many). Those. Big. Eyes!
ReplyDeleteI don't think I've ever been to a gender reveal (???). But they sound like fun!
Oh, Martha! My big sister's heart gave a happy thump as I read your comment. :D Thank you!!!!!
DeleteBabies are SO precious!!!
ReplyDeleteWe always wait until birth. I prefer it that way, actually, though if God ever grants that I have my own children I do not know if I would want to wait until birth or not! Haha!
Yes, they are!!! 😍😍😍
DeleteNice! I applaud you for being able to wait that long. 😉
At the beginning of her pregnancy, Mom always resolves she'll wait till birth to find out the gender of our baby. But then the morning sickness kicks in, and twenty weeks later, she's ready to know who (Ruby or Benjamin, in this case) she's carrying. 😊
This is so fun! I remember when you revealed to us Ruby's gender. I was so excited! I guessed a girl and-- surprise!-- I was right. ;) :D I love babies. They are SO CUTE. <33 <33 :D
ReplyDelete~Elate
I recall your excitement from that day, yes. It made me so happy. ;) (and I think you were, like, my only blog commenter--besides my mom--who had guessed the correct gender ahead of time.)
DeleteI soooooo agree: babies are ADORABLE. =)
This is such a special post! : ) the pink smoke is really neat! I have 8 siblings! We don’t usually do much for gender reveals, but when we found out about one of my brothers mom bought a blue onesie and put it in a bag for my dad to pull out. After five girls straight he was really surprised!
ReplyDeleteSeptember 25 was my one year anniversary of getting my wisdom teeth out 😋 that’s neat that it was the same day!
Thank you so much! <3 I can only imagine your dad's surprise at uncovering a blue onesie after having had five daughters in a row. xD
DeleteWhoah, that's really interesting! :D
Hi! Yes, I remember when you posted that! So fun! :-)
ReplyDeleteI have been to one. Lol, our own at home. But it was just us siblings and mom took the video, I can still hear my older brothers saying, "another girl?!" They were hoping for another brother so they could beat the odds. LOL.
Mom put a lot of pink gallons in a cardboard box with rapping paper. We all ripped it open as fast as we could to see what color the balloons were.
And little Susie crawling as fast as she could away. 😂😂
That was 8 years ago...
What a fun memory!! I love that gender reveal idea!! 😄
DeleteHurrah for pink, am I right?! 😂
