Musing #84 - While You're Waiting for My Giveaway . . .

Hi friends,

So, while you're waiting for me to launch my giveaway for a copy of The Torch Keepers, I just wanted to let you know that authors Faith Potts and Kaitlyn Krispense are having a giveaway of their own over at Faith's blog, Stories by Firefly!. Both of these young, talented authors are preparing to publish books on the tenth day of September, and the winners of their giveaway will be some of the first to read one or both of their books, Beloved and Freedom. So, what are you waiting for? Hop on over to Faith's blog post for more info and to enter the giveaway!!!

Also, the authors are asking people to share their #R2L (Reason to Live), so here is my reason:

JESUS.

My one and only reason for, without Him, you've got nothing. He's placed each one of us here for a purpose, and that purpose is to serve and glorify Him. Our lives are in His hands!

    2. Ellen, I heard on the website you linked that their is a tv show that spiked suicide up....I am SO sorry about that Netflix show. *Screams "WHY!!!" *Cries * comes back.
I have started in the last few weeks an organization against Suicide *Spits out the word like a curse
It is called "Love in the dark" We are putting out posters and compliments every where we can in our small town. Ellen, would you please pray for me and this organization? [We are trying to not let others know who is in our group. As in names. So we all have "Saved" or "DaughterofChrist" etc..... Thanks!

    1. They are both awesome! Freedom, no, nothing I was uncomfortable with, it was a "romance" of sorts. But (I'm trying really hard not to give away spoilers here), it's nothing inappropriate, but of course, opinions differ. Faith is one of the few authors I read, who does write romance, but not inappropriate, it is a healthy type, if that makes sense. If recommended it a thousand times. Both books handle the tricky subject of suicide but in a very God honoring and safe way. Check them out :-)

    2. Thank you Sandy! I am very glad it is a healthy romance-ish. [I get it! It is good to have some romance in your life, but not weird.] I a glad suicide is handled well. In my small town we have a lot of people try to commit suicide. Because my dad is the fire chief we have a pager and hear it a lt.. [Even my best friends half brother tried to 3 times!] Thank you for your opinion I will try to get a copy of Freedom soon!

  6. Thank you every single fire fighter, police officer, and paramedic who lost their lives in the 9-11 attack. Thank you. It had been 18 years and we still are deeply wounded by it. Many lost their husbands, fathers, mothers, and wives. Many also lost friends. Thank you for your duty. You are not forgotten.
Please, if you can, pray for all of the first responders and civilians who lost their lives. Pray that their families would be at peace and have or will learn about our savior, Jesus Christ.
God bless Written and Posted on 9-11
