Monday Musings // First Post of 2021!!

Happy New Year, everyone! How many of you stayed up till midnight to officially welcome 2021? My sibs and I attempted it after our parents and the four youngest kiddos went to bed. We popped popcorn and several of us curled up on the couch to watch an episode of I Love Lucy and another of Little House on the Prairie. It was fun, even though I knew ahead of time I wouldn't last until twelve o'clock. Only my two brothers made it that long. 😂

Some other fun highlights from the week included Mom's and my trip to Books-a-Million, reaching The Newlywed Game episode in the Sue Thomas TV series (Jack and Sue were everything I had hoped for, BTW), and celebrating my sister, Sadie's, third birthday. (she wanted a princess party . . . talk about making me feel nostalgic.) 😄 Over the weekend, I watched God's Not Dead 3, but while Dave and Pearce made me laugh, I wasn't too impressed by the film overall. The second movie remains my favorite. 😃

I love this little girl so, so much!!! 😍

Ruby and me. (her mouth is covered in chocolate ice cream and vanilla birthday cake frosting. 😂)
She'll be a year old at the end of this month! (Crazy, I know.)

Can you believe we've entered 2021?! Do you have any New Year resolutions you'd care to share? Comment below!

Blessings,

Ellen S.

  3. My sister and I stayed up 'til midnight on New Years Eve. We watched some I Love Lucy and read. I pretty much stayed up just to finish my book and 'white rabbit' several friends.

    1. *heart eyes* That's one of my favorite movies, Autumn!!! (The Redemption of Henry Myers) Fun fact - the actors who played the MCs met through the movie and were really married last year. <33

  7. Happy 2021!! I did stay up till midnight, but that was mostly becuase I was already out at a party with my young adults group until 11:30 so it wasn't much more. XD
Isn't The Newlywed Game awesome?? I love those episodes so much. =D
One of my main goals for 2021 is to spend more time in devotions. Also to finish a few of my writing projects!

  10. Lol, I couldn't stay up that long either. All of my other siblings did though,(except my oldest brother and sister in-law) because it was one of my older brother's 18th birthday and they were watching a new movie. Happy new year!

  11. 2021 seemed to come up all of the sudden! :D I wasn't even going to stay up - I had gone to my room to go to bed around ten, when I ended up getting sucked into a really good book (the first page grabbed me, and I just didn't stop for a while . . .). No one else in my family could/wanted to go to sleep, so I stayed up with them. :D

And guess what??? I went to BAM today!!!! We were out of town, and my family wanted to go to a clothes store. And guess what I happened to see right beside the clothes store? *heart eyes* So - my cousin and I bailed out of the clothes store and ended up with four books. XD <33
