My "verse" for this past week has actually been a short collection of verses - Jonah 2:3, Jonah 2:6b, and Jonah 2:7.
"For You cast me into the deep, into the heart of the seas, and the flood surrounded me; all Your waves and Your billows passed over me . . . yet You brought up my life from the pit, O LORD my God. When my life was fainting away, I remembered the LORD, and my prayer came to You, into Your holy temple."
These verses also set the stage for my giveaway, as the prizes for this giveaway are:
* Two charms on a 16" chain. One charm is a beautiful, blue-green stone, and the other charm is a tiny bottle filled with even smaller pink stones.
* A rock inscribed with the words: "Be still and know that I am God." On the back it gives the Scripture reference to this verse (Psalm 46:10).

The stones symbolize the "waves and billows" that roll over us in life and the good that comes from them. Each one of us goes through different trials, but the one thing that we all share in common is this - when we come out from the waves, we've been changed. The change might be gradual, or it might be immediate. Whatever the case, God uses our trials to smooth our creases, renew our hearts, and fill us with awe at the sight of the work He is doing through us.
It is my prayer that whoever God chooses as the winner of this giveaway will be blessed with this little gift. Whenever she wears it, and her fingers touch the smooth surface of the blue-green stone, I pray that she will be reminded, "God has this. He's in charge of the waves - they will go wherever He destines them to. I need only to be still and trust, for I know that He uses all things for my good and His glory."

One of my favourite verses is 2nd Corinthians 12:8-10:
Three times I pleaded with the Lord about this, that it should leave me.
But He said to me, "My grace is sufficent for thee, for my power is made perfect in weekness." Therefore I will boast all the more glady of my weeknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me. For the sake of Christ, then, I am content with weeknesses, insults, hardships, persucutions, and calamities. For when I am week, then I am strong.
An amazing verse to choose, my sweet friend!

Do not be afraid of them, for I am with you to deliver you, declares the Lord.”
