Hi, friends! I have a gorgeous new header now thanks to Abby from Little Birdie Blessings. She's an amazing graphic designer! (She's also the one who designed those cards I used for story prompts during my "Story a Week Challenge.") Thank you so very, very much, Mrs. Hickey! I am so honored to have a piece of your work on my blog :-).

Musing #45 - Marigolds!
Hi friends! Sunday night was flower-shopping night. So many pretty plants to choose from . . . and all serving as excellent reminders about how great and amazing our Creator is!!!
I was on the lookout for one plant in particular - the marigold, my very most favorite plant ever. The flowers of that plant are nothing short of gorgeous! With sweet, delicate petals the color of the gold they're named after, these pretty flowers have always had a soft spot in my heart.
Thankfully, there was a pot of marigolds placed amongst some other kinds of plants (some might say the single pot was "misplaced," but I believe that God put those marigolds in that spot just for me). It was with joy that the sunshiny blossoms were found and brought home to be planted in one of our little gardens.
So, anyway, just a fun little musing of mine. ;-) Do you have a favorite flower? If so, what is it?

Isn't this little blossom absolutely beautiful?
I'm using my precious marigold as my new profile picture. :-)

Musing #44 - Happy Mail!
Hi friends! Today's post is super special. A dear friend of mine, Sandrina, sent me a delightful package of "happy mail." It arrived today, and I enjoyed going through the amazing contents tucked inside. My friend lives in the UK, so she sent me a fun, three-dimensional guidebook of Great Britain, as well as a series of pretty paper samples, vintage envelopes, beautiful stickers, cards hand-lettered with quotes and Bible verses, and, of course, a sweet letter. Thank you so much, Sandrina! Your kindness means a lot to me :-). I'm so thankful and blessed to have a friend like you!

Musing #43 - "Elsie Dinsmore," A Weekly Book Review
Hi friends! How many of you are familiar with that old, valuable series known as Elsie Dinsmore? The books from that series have been my companions ever since I can remember - they used to be my very most favorite reads. As I grew older, I was given the first two books of the series (before that I'd only loaned the books off a family friend). However, the ones I were given - and sadly, I did not realize this until later - were not the originals, but instead changed versions of the old books - dramatically changed versions. One such example of this dramatic change is this:
In the original collection, Martha Finley had Elsie marry her father's old friend, Mr. Edward Travilla. He died of a serious and sudden disease.
In the changed version (the Life of Faith series), Elsie marries Mr. Travilla, but he dies because he's crushed by a tree, and, in those books, Elsie's daughter, Violet, thinks it's all her fault.
So, my recommendation: read the originals. They're so much better! And they're so beautifully written too - I love the "archaic" style about them.
Anyway, all that to be said, I would love to do a "weekly book review" for the original series of these delightful stories. There are 28 books total, so that would equal 28 weeks of reviews ;-).
If you would like to read the first review, you can visit my newest page by clicking HERE, or by going to the tab titled "Martha Finley."
Enjoy!

Musing #41 - I Suggest a Challenge
Hi, friends! Did the title of my musing give you a little start? :-)
But don't worry, it's a fun challenge - one I look forward to undertaking, and one I hope you, too, will join me in doing.

Musing #40 - Shelter from the Storm
How God has been teaching me lessons from the rain He has so graciously created!
Last week's post talked about my little birdie-friend and how he had the joy and strength needed to sing, even amidst his affliction. Today, still another amazing truth was revealed to me.

Musing #39 - Joyful Under Affliction
As I was sitting in my bedroom this morning, my pencil busy at work upon the pages of my notebook, a sound came from outside my window - a sound that seems to always fill me with joy and peace.
