Hi, friends! How are you all this fine February day?
Did my post title give you a little surprise? This post is surprising to me, too . . . one I fully hadn't intended on writing, but God can reveal Himself in the most mysterious of ways, and I feel that I should share this little experience with you :-).

Musing #25 - "One Story a Week Challenge," Story 3
Hmm. . . which card shall it be today? Read the first paragraphs of the story (below) and take a guess :-). At the end of my post, I have the correct picture. Keep reading and see if your guess is right!

Rewind back two hundred years, to the early 1800's. Imagine a small but busy town, where, during the spring and summer, the sun never stops shining, and, during the fall and winter, the rain and snow never cease.
Zoom into this town, to a blacksmith's tiny forge. If you stood outside the window of this forge, you'd hear the "bang-bang, bang-bang" of a hammer striking metal. You'd see much smoke and the cheerful face of a soot-dusted blacksmith. If you stepped inside, just for a moment, he'd set aside his work to engage in a friendly chat. And for sure you wouldn't leave before he said at least one word about his daughter.
Yes, sweet little Elsie - the blacksmith's daughter - is the focus of this story. Shy and quiet, with a beautiful crown of dark curls and a pair of the softest, purest hazel eyes, Elsie is the picture of her mother. Often the blacksmith takes her upon his lap and calls her "her mama's miniature."

Musing #23 - "One Story a Week Challenge," Story 2
Hi! I'm a day early, I know, but a spark of an idea propelled my fingers to the keyboard, and, seeing as it is Valentine's Day, I saw this story only fit to post today :-). Enjoy, and happy Valentine's Day!
Imagine living back in the early - very early - 1900's, where surgeries and other such procedures were always risky ventures.
This story focuses upon just such a venture, and involves two sisters - Valerie and Violet. These two girls are twins, and share almost everything together - birthdays, a room, toys, adventures, etc.
One day, however, one was called to share more than she'd ever thought she would . . .

Musing #21 - "Write One Story a Week Challenge," Story 1
Because his sister is often away at school, the little boy (Jeffrey by name) is lonesome almost all the time. He wants a playmate more than anything.

A Combination of Musings #11, #17, and #20 - Tags and Downloads
So, a while back, this post started out as "Musing #11." Then it became "Musing #17," and now it's "Musing #20"! Mom's tags are sold out (but, shh, I hear talk of restocking sometime soon. . .) and she has now uploaded digital downloads of whimsical girls with the hymn "Take My Life and Let It Be" on their dresses to her shop. Scroll down for pictures. If you're interested in purchasing these beautiful downloads, go HERE. They're useful in all occasions: bookmarks, notecards, reminders, gifts, and so much more!

Musing #19 - A Personal Essay
Good evening, everyone! I have something new to share :-). As you can see from the title, I am posting a personal essay that I wrote. It was suggested to me that I take a scene from Matthew and rewrite it, as if I was right there with Jesus and His disciples. I found it to be a fun project, and I hope you enjoy! Leave your thoughts in the comments; can you tell which scene I chose to rewrite? ;-)

My head is pounding from the sun beating down upon me.
Trekking my way up this high, steep mountain in the middle of a hot afternoon
makes my legs feel like jelly. When will
we reach the top? I’m tempted to shout. I swallow, swipe a hand across my
sweaty forehead, and plod on.
Suddenly,
Jesus pauses. He stands in front of us and doesn’t move.

Musing #18 - The "One Story a Week" Challenge
Hello, and welcome to my first post of February :-).
I have big news - I am trying my hand (and mind!) at a fun new challenge. I call it my, "Write and Post One Story a Week Challenge." Using these fun story prompts that are pictured below, I plan to write and post one story every Friday.
Eight pictures = eight story prompts/plots - and in no particular order!
A special thanks to Abby @ http://littlebirdieblessings.blogspot.com/ for these sweet vintage cards!
Don't they all look like so much fun??? :-)
