Exciting News!

Friends, I am like . . . beyond excited right now. You won't believe what came in the mail yesterday!
But oh, I'm getting ahead of myself. Let's take this one step at a time and start way back at the beginning of this whole adventure.
As some of you can no doubt remember, I took nearly the entire month of March and almost all of April off the Internet last year. It was a hard challenge for me, but definitely so very worth it.
You also may recall that since I've returned, I've hinted time and time again at a "special project" I had in the works.
Yep, you guessed it. Now is the time to break the news and reveal to you all just what I've been up to since March of 2019.
Are you ready for this???? *throws confetti* *dances around*

During my time away from the Internet, God worked in me to bring about something I was doubtful would ever happen: writing a thirty-day devotional book for teen girls that would make its way, slowly but surely, to publication!!!
I am soooooooooo ecstatic and caught up in awe at the way God has been leading me with this book. As the proof copy arrives and I enlist my sister's help in snapping a picture, I'm reminded yet again about His faithfulness.
He truly gave me the endurance I needed to do what had to be done . . . as well as two fantastic parents, a bunch of encouraging siblings, several amazing friends, and a favorite author who offered me constant support throughout the whole publishing (and writing!) process. (You guys are the bestest!!! <3)
The release date for this devotional book, The Whispers God Gives, is set for April 21st, 2020, the same day a year ago I returned from my Internet break. Lord willing, it will be available on Amazon as both a paperback and Kindle edition, in case any of you are interested in purchasing a copy or two. ;D
Be sure to stay tuned, as there's a slew of fun stuff in store for the release that just might include giveaways, snippets, and reviews from a group of awesome ARC readers! Next week, I'll be sharing the back-cover summary. =)

Comment below if you're excited!!

Blessings,

Ellen S.

    1. Thank you, Lilly! I'm publishing "The Whispers God Gives" through Kindle Direct Publishing (KDP), a self-publishing company on Amazon. :-) The Bible translation I used was ESV.

    2. Thanks for answering my questions! And by this point you're probably a bit tired of answering all the questions I ask. I've heard good reviews about KDP-I was thinking about possibly publishing my next novel (Greater Love) on KDP. In the ESV, you had me at devotional, but ESV has put this on my to-get list. (I don't like the new, unheard Bible translations many new devotionals use.)

    3. LOL, no, I'm not tired of your questions. :-) That would be AWESOME if you decided to publish on KDP!! :D I look forward to reading "Greater Love." It sounds amazing!
Yep, I almost always use ESV (and sometimes NIV). :-)
Thanks so much for your encouraging words! <3

  19. Hi Ellen!

That looks so exciting! Good luck with the publishing!
You may have seen me at Lilly's blog - I'm still kinda new to the blogosphere though. I have just started up a blog dedicated to inspiring people to enjoy godly and well-writtem books - which soumds like something you also do! I would love it if you could check it out!

I'm looking at your Martha Finley tab right now - I love Elsie too! My favourite would have to be Holidays at Roselands or Elsie's Motherhood.

    1. Hi Jemima!! Thanks so much for stopping by my little blog of musings and leaving a comment! I'm so glad you're here. :-)
Yes, I've seen you over @ Lilly's Tidbit. Did you find me through a comment I left there?
Your blog is so beautiful! I love the title, and your mission. =) I agree that it can be really, really hard to find wholesome, clean Christian books in this day and age.
Thank you for sharing the link with me! :-)

    2. Thank you too! Yes, I saw you over at Lilly's Tibdit. You're almost always the first to comment so how could I miss you!
Yeah, I really felt like helping people to read godly books would be a good thing to do. Although now I'm kind of realising that I want the books I review to be pointing towards getting out and sharing the gospel. That's way more important that sitting home and reading a novel, however godly the novel may be! Especially in these times. People really need the Good News - a good book is still important but secondary to salvation.

    3. *laughs* Yes, Lilly's blog is amazing, and I love her posts, so how can I help but be the first to comment whenever possible? ;D
You're absolutely right, it's very important that we get out and share the Gospel with others. There are so many lost souls who need to hear the good news and accept Jesus into their lives. :-)
Thanks for commenting, Jemima! Have a great day. <3
